Review: Urban Armor Gear Composite Cases

Urban Armor Gear caught wind of our Buying Guide: Gifts Under $50 and decided to send over a case for a review.  It’s a pretty impressive little package.

I’ve always been a tough love kinda guy.  I take care of my things, but I expect them to perform.  My phone is no exception, so I pick my cases with great care and the UAG Composite has lived up to my standards.

The dual density construction is a big deal. A softer core coupled with a more rigid shell has protected my phone over the last dozen or so tumbles that it’s taken.  I’m not clumsy—I just multi-task a lot.

The high viz rust color way is easy to spot when in outdoor environments or while digging for it in my pack.

I’ve carried other cases with low profile buttons and have had issues manipulating the volume and screen lock.  That’s not the case here with UAG.

One of the really well thought out parts of the design is the oversized buttons that really don’t impede any of your phones original functionality.  I’ve carried other cases with low profile buttons and have had issues manipulating the volume and screen lock.  That’s not the case here with UAG.

Another really slick little detail is the 360-degree protection that the case provides.  There’s a lip that wraps around the screen of your phone, so that even when placing it face down on flat/semi-flat surfaces, your screen will never contact the surface.  Be sure to splurge for the Screen Shield if you need a little extra protection.

I’m also really digging how low friction the case is. Some textured cases are a little more difficult to retrieve. I carry my phone in my front left pocket, and it slides in and out without any hang-ups.

For $35, I think this is a real winner.  It even fits in right at home with my other EDC.  Give UAG a chance and check out their other cases for everything from phones to tablets and laptops.
